Services
Digital Fax Service. Natural Data’s
Digital Fax Service provides high-quality, high-performance
fax sending and receiving using the internet connection you
already have. Instead of ordering an analog phone line for
your fax machine, Natural Data provides a fax number (in most
cases your existing fax number can be used), and you simply
connect your existing fax machine to the network in your office
through one of our hardware connection options. That’s
it! And since the Digital Fax Service works invisibly, no
training is required. The fax machine works exactly as it
always did. See diagram.
Fax Retention and Logging Service. Natural
Data provides an optional add-on that allows every fax that
is sent or received to be automatically archived and logged.
This happens completely invisibly, and the data can be stored
at your location. The Fax Retention and Logging Service exceeds
requirements for compliance with the Sarbanes Oxley Act of
2002 which requires a proper and effective internal control
system to capture all documents of financial consequence for
public companies. In addition, custom interfaces to transfer
data to document management systems are available.
Account Cost Recovery Service. This optional
service allows professional offices including lawyers and
accountants to track each fax that is sent or received for
client billing or other purposes. By simply entering a fax
number on the fax machine followed by pound (#) and an account
number, each fax is identified with a specific account. This
feature can be configured to be either optional or required.
Hardware Options
Today, Natural Data’s Digital Fax Service, along with
other optional services require a special hardware device
called a Fax Terminal Adapter or FTA.
Options for FTAs to fit your business are as follows:
For Large Companies
Natural Data is shipping our Networked Office Automation
Host (NOAH™), which is designed for customers who have
several fax machines in the same building and who also require
the local Fax Retention and Logging Service. NOAH is built
on a standard PC platform and can include from 3 to 48 fax
machine connections in a single box. Normally this solution
is placed in a data center or wiring closet. NOAH currently
requires installation in a personal computer or server.
For Smaller Companies
In the fall of 2005, Natural Data will begin shipping a single-port
FTA. This FTA will be a compact standalone device and can
be installed simply by plugging the fax machine into one side
and the network cable into the other side. A simple configuration
is done on any nearby PC using an Internet browser. ~
